Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Contractor’s personnel shall wear a uniform which identifies their position as a security guard and the company for which they work (insignia and/or badge). They shall present a clean, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.; 2. Contractor’s assigned personnel shall remain on the KU -property, or on roads/parking lots to check alternate areas throughout their shift. Personnel breaks shall be taken in the PSO Office. Post checks of outlying areas will be performed with contractor or contractor personnel’s personal vehicle. No KU Public Safety vehicle will be provided.; 3. Contractor’s personnel shall check and secure all KU Campus buildings and properties at a minimum: a) Main campus buildings and facilities at least two (2) times per shift. Of particular concern is the safety and wellbeing of students. Security guard watches for trespassers, fire, weather concerns, water, or HVAC related issues. ; d) Reportable problems shall include, but not limited to, malfunctioning equipment, malfunctioning or burned-out lights, water hazards, heating/cooling issues, unsecured doors, activated alarms, activated emergency equipment, improperly functioning equipment, injuries on campus, misconduct, illegal or improper entry to facilities, situations that have or could contribute to a fire, and any other safety issues or suspicious activities.; e) Any situation deemed to be of an emergency nature, or any circumstance where life may be at risk or threatened, or when security guard personnel deem a law enforcement, fire department or medical response is warranted or required, the security guard personnel must ensure 911 is called immediately.; f) Monitor heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems temperature and pressure to ensure they are within established parameters. Deviation from those parameters shall be immediately reported to KU Communications.; h) Monitor weather developments during potentially severe weather to alert students, employees, and/or guests of severe weather.; i) Monitor fire alarm panels and report fire alarms to 911 and trouble reports to KU Communications.; j) Document security activities and events in a format approved by KU Public Safety.; k) Other duties as may be assigned by KU Public Safety in consultation with the Contractor.
