Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Derby, Kansas (hereinafter referred to as the “City”) invites proposals for Sandblasting, Surface Repair & Surface Coating of 3 Pools and Refurbishment of Fiberglass Slides. Contractor is responsible for: 1. Sandblasting a. All painted surfaces will be sandblasted and scraped to completely remove all layers of existing paint within the lap pool, shallow pool and lazy river. b. All cracks and joints must be identified, logged and approved by the Parks Director before being repaired or sealed prior to painting. c. Any concrete identified with significant damage must be identified, logged and approved by the Park Director before being replaced. 2. Surface Coating a. Painting all three pools with two (2) coats of Sherwin-Williams Industrial Catalyzed B62 series high solid epoxy paint, OR, Tnemec Series 161 TnemeFascure Polyamide Epoxy, matching existing colors and details. b. Apply non-skid additive to all ramps, submerged concrete steps, and entire Shallow Pool Floor. c. Outside of pool deck striping; painting with Sherwin-Williams Industrial Catalyzed B62, OR, Tnemec Series 161 to match existing color. Exterior Coating of Fiberglass Slides: d. All fiberglass slide exteriors shall be prepared by light abrasive blasting with fine aggregate to remove current adhered polysiloxane coatings and make the substrate a paintable surface. e. Coating system shall be Tnemec Series 27 F.C. Typoxy Primer with an intermediate and top coat of Tnemec Series 1075U Endura-Shield II. *NOTE: Minor adjustments are to be made to outside striping, to which contractor is responsible for confirming with City staff prior to starting.
