The City of Derby is interested in proposals that will provide quality services at competitive rates. The proposals will be evaluated on experience, quality, price, and turnaround time. The Scope of Services shall, at minimum, include and provide for the following: 1. The Concession Agreement will begin January 13, 2026 with an initial term through December 31, 2026 and an option to automatically extend the contract each year for additional one-year terms unless either party notifies the other in writing by November 1st of any given year of a desire to materially amend or terminate the contract. The Rock River Rapids season begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Mid-August. 2. The Concessionaire must maintain a full-service concession operation during the summer months according to a schedule mutually agreed upon by the City and/or the Derby Recreation Commission. The concession operation shall be staffed and equipped to meet the needs of park patrons while maximizing revenue. It is the expectation of the City that concessions are open during every open pool day, and special events as needed. 3. Concessionaire will offer customers food and beverages of first quality and standard quality. Heated consumables may be offered as well as pre-packaged consumables. 4. The Concessionaire may, at its discretion, use any concession equipment currently available at the Parks or, at its own expense, equip the Parks sufficiently to provide patrons of the parks with proper service and a first quality appearance (See Exhibit A).The City may be willing to purchase equipment for operations and is willing to discuss equipment needs with the selected concessionaire. If proposer has specialized equipment they desire the City to purchase, please include the request in the proposal. 5. The selected proposer must meet and comply with all federal, state, and local statutes, laws, and ordinances and all rules and regulations in regard to food preparation and distribution. The selected proposer must display required certifications for food and beverage services at each concession facility. 6. The selected proposer will be responsible for cleaning all service areas inside and outside the concession facility, including tables, chairs and the surrounding area. Concession facilities are required to meet or exceed Health Department and Fire Department requirements.
