Basic Services provided shall include, but are not limited to the following: A. Review proposed alignment and line sizing for the waterline improvements. B. Ensure that all projects are designed and constructed in accordance with Section 1.5 of the City of Topeka Design Criteria and Drafting Standards, the City of Topeka and Shawnee County Standard Technical Specifications, and Chapter VIII of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Policies, General Considerations and Design Requirements for Public Water Supply Systems in Kansas. C. Meet with City staff at critical stages throughout design and construction of projects to answer questions and provide D. Provide hydraulic modeling analysis of the City’s distribution system utilizing the City’s Computer Hydraulic Model to make recommendations on water main replacement locations and sizing, water main extensions to serve new development and improvements, or analysis for system optimization in any of the five (5) pressure zones. E. Provide training for professional development of Utility Department water staff. F. Provide technical advice to Utility Department water staff on distribution system issues including repairs, construction, pressure, flow, and fire protection. G. Review plans for development projects to ensure compliance with City and KDHE standards and constructability.
