The information received will be used within Department of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to facilitate the decision-making process and will not be disclosed outside of the organization. Department of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, KS is seeking current relevant experience, personnel, and capability to work that includes but is not limited to repair porches: The purpose of the Sources Sought is to get interested vendor with these capabilities and outline the requirements for the porches repair of building 45 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Demolish NNW, Central NE & NNE Porches - three-story wood porches and related standing seam roofs (approx. 3,850 SF). Add back fascia, gutters and downspouts (approx. 450 LF - lineal feet) to the newly exposed existing roof rafter 18-inch-deep eaves. Fill 136 – 8x8 former beam pockets with matching brick.
Repair South and NW Porches – Repair deteriorated porch components of approximately 450 LF of south and 80 LF of NW three-story porches. This work will include approximately five (5) - 11 FT tall, 8x8 wood columns, eight (8) - 9 to 10 FT long, 8x8 wood beams, 4x8 end joists and 4x4 fluted haunches, eight (8) - 10 FT +/- long 2x6 fluted (1” corner chamfers) top and bottom rails, 25 - 2 FT high 2x2 wood pickets, 80 LF of new prefinished gutters on NW porches (includes demo of continuous metal wrapped 2x6), 70 – 10 FT long fascia boards and trim pieces, and 14 new three-story downspouts with new conductor heads. Then repaint all columns, beams, fascia and wood railings on the NW porches and all columns, beams, fascia and column and beam wrapped trim (not metal railings) on full south porches.
Replace and Repair Brick – Replace approximately 1,000 SF of matching historic 8 ¼” long face-brick at the third-floor porch level in the center north section. Spot replace approximately 550 cracked and spauled brick around the building and tuckpoint approximately 300 SF around the building, virtually all of which is on the first level.
The contract to be awarded under this contract will be for construction in Fort Leavenworth, within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a corresponding Size Standard of $45 million.
