The District desires a vendor that is able to provide quality pest control services. Specifically, the District is interested in a vendor that will provide a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan for District facilities. The District considers “IPM” to be a process for achieving long-term, environmentally sound pest suppression through the use of a variety of technological and management practices. That is, IPM strategies extend beyond the mere application of pesticides to include structural and procedural modifications that reduce the food, water, harborage and access used by pests. Insect trapping, rather than usage of chemical applications and other pest control resources, is preferred. The selected contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to accomplish the surveillance, trapping, and pesticide applications components of the IPM plan. The selected contract shall provide detailed, site-specific recommendations for structural and procedural modifications necessary to achieve pest prevention.
