Multiple contract awards are expected in each specific geographic service area, per KDOT district map. A bidder may request and receive an award for multiple service areas. An agency (contract user) may work with a single contractor, at their discretion, for projects/services expected to cost $25,000 or less without any additional competition. For these projects, the contractor shall invoice the agency for work performed based on rates provided in the bidder’s proposal. 2. Agencies may, on occasion, require more extensive electrical services for a specific project. These projects, expected to exceed $10,000, must be competitively bid with all contractors in a specific region by the agency/owner. For these projects, the contractor is expected to invoice the agency a lump sum amount upon satisfactory project completion or, if defined in the project solicitation, upon completion of established milestones or deliverables. Payment terms should be specified in the project award. 3. Work is expected to take place during normal State of Kansas business hours. However, the contract user may require overtime from the contractor. Any overtime must receive written approval from the contract user. Unless stated in a specific project solicitation, travel expenses are NOT allowed. 4. A contractor is not required to bid on each project solicited and there is no guaranty of work by the State. 5. Rates provided in the Bid Form shall include: a) Employee pay rate b) FICA contributions c) All Unemployment Insurance costs d) Worker’s Compensation, Fidelity and Liability insurance costs e) General administrative and overhead expenses f) Gross profit margin g) Any other additional employee payroll contributions
