The City of Abilene Parks and Recreation Department (City) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (Contractors) for the design and construction of new multi-use fields. The project scope includes the design and construction of high-quality fields. The project aims to construct new baseball and softball fields that meet high school and recreational league standards, with the capability to play soccer in the outfields. The fields should accommodate various age groups, lighting, concessions, bathrooms, storage, and a parking lot. Proposals are for 3 site options. Site 1 is located at 1020 NW 8th St, Site 2 is located west of Van Buren on NW 8th St, Site 3 is located south of I-70. The scope includes, but is not limited to: • Field Construction: o Design and construction of 1 high school sized baseball field and 5 multi-use fields, with markers for soccer o Multi-use fields to accommodate high school softball, adult softball and 13U and under baseball teams o Grading and leveling of the site o Installation of drainage systems o Outfield and infield construction o Soil testing • Turf Installation: o Pricing for artificial turf infields and natural grass outfields, built for future artificial turf installation in the outfields o Pricing for artificial turf infields and outfields o Ensure turf options are durable and low maintenance • Lighting: o Installation of energy-efficient, LED field lighting • Dugouts: o Option for in-ground dugouts for high school sized baseball field
