Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. To provide general medical consultation, treatment and services for the residents of KVH in accordance with standards set by the VA, CMS and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) for residents of long term care. B. Conduct initial evaluations within 48-72 hours of each resident upon admission to the facility, unless the resident has a local Primary Physician. The evaluation shall include: a report on current medical findings, diagnosis, orders for immediate care of the resident, and a medical history. (Completion of VA Form 10-10SH) C. Unless the resident has a local Primary Physician, the Medical Director is responsible for reviewing the resident's total program of care, including medications and treatments, at each visit. Shall conduct rounds as medical conditions warrant and utilize facility's clinic when necessary. D. Is responsible for writing or overseeing physician and /or Advanced Practice Provider’s (APP’s) progress notes when there are significant changes in the resident or when laboratory values or treatment needs change, and periodically if the status is stable.
