4.1 Consultant Positions 1. Medical Consultant - MD or DO with a current exempt or active medical license. Active medical license can complete case work and review and sign medical orders. 2. Psychological Consultant - PhD, MD, or PsyD with a current active license. 3. Speech and Language Pathologist Consultant - SLP with a current active license. 4.2. Consultant Duties A. File Reviews of Social Security Administration (SSA) Title II and Title XVI claims (File Review – Case Evaluation and Assessment: Case Consultations; Meetings/Formal Trainings/Mentoring/Report(s) of contact authorized in advance by the KS DDS; Case Evaluation and Assessment – PDD; Case Evaluation and Assessment – Medical assistance). B. File reviews of Consultative Examination Medical Authorizations Requests (Medical only – requires active medical license – those with an exempt license are ineligible to provide this service). 4.3. Consultant Services - General Requirements The staffing Agency must make every effort to accept referrals from the State of Kansas DDS (Disability Determination Services – DDS) regarding consultants (physical, psychological, speech) who are seeking placement for the length of time specified in each request. DDS reserves the right to utilize consultants for a minimum amount of time and to request additional consultant support as determined by agency needs. The State and DDS require consultants on an “as needed” basis for the duration of this Contract. • All temporarily assigned consultants will be appropriately dressed for the assignment and must maintain a professional demeanor. Dress code policy is established by the DDS. Consultants must dress according to the requirements of the DDS requesting the assignment. Any required specific attire will not be provided by or reimbursed unless specified by DDS. • DDS reserves the right to reduce the length of the temporary assignment and will provide the Staffing Agency with as much notification as possible. • Qualifications, licensure, knowledge, skills, and abilities required of consultants must meet the minimum requirements as determined by DDS. Consultants must have the ability to work on an “as needed” basis. • The State will require consultants on an “as needed” basis for the duration of this Contract. • DDS will not be responsible for the Staffing Agency’s consultants who voluntarily leave the Staffing Agency’s employment or engages in employment with another company. • DDS has the right to refer qualified potential applicants to the Staffing Agency for processing and assignment to fulfill DDS needs. • Staffing Agency must have the ability to accept referrals from DDS. Consultants can be located anywhere throughout the State of Kansas or the four states bordering Kansas (Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Nebraska) • Requests for consultant fulfillment may be in the form of e-mail, facsimile, or telephone call from the DDS. The Staffing Agency must follow the DDS order placement processes.
