A. Review all legislation introduced during the 2026 legislative session to identify bills of interest to the City. B. Inform the City Manager, City Attorney, Governing Body, and other designated City staff of proposed legislation that may impact the City of Topeka or its operations. C. Monitor and track all legislation affecting the City and keep key stakeholders apprised of major developments related to Shawnee County, Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority, and other nearby governmental entities. D. Assist the City Manager and Governing Body, upon request, in developing a list of potential topics for the City’s legislative agenda. E. Support the City Manager and Governing Body in developing formal legislative positions and advocate to legislators on the City’s behalf. This support may include drafting, introducing, and actively working legislation for enactment.
