Specifications include, but are not limited to:PSU is issuing this RFP to establish a partnership agreement and price contract for weed control, soil insect control, and turf fertilization with the successful responsive and responsible offeror during the contract period referenced above. Pittsburg State University is issuing this Request for Proposal to obtain competitive responses from vendors to furnish equipment, labor, chemicals and materials required for comprehensive weed control, soil insect control, and a turf fertilization program for specified lawn areas. Expected services include pre-emergent and post emergent herbicide applications for grassy and broadleaf weeds for control of annual and perennial weeds as well as a well balanced fertility program based on slow-release granular turf fertilizer. This to be done on a schedule of at least 4 rounds of treatment throughout the growing season from a time period encompassing late February through late November with applications being approximately 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the time of year and materials to be applied. Of particular concern is control of, but not limited to, the following weeds: smooth and hairy crabgrass, goosegrass, annual fescue, dandelion, white clover, knotweed, henbit, lambsquarters and yellow nutsedge. Using the manufacturer’s recommended rates, blanket applications of all herbicides and fertilizers are expected for each of the 4 rounds of total treatments explained below.
