The current Ellis County Detention Facility was remodeled and expanded in 2015. Since then it has been 10 years of continued use and Ellis County is looking to repaint the facility. Contractors are expected to prep all areas for paint, which would include cleaning, patching, scraping etc. There are areas of rust, mainly around the showers, that will need to be sanded and primed before painting. The paint for this proposal will be a water-based epoxy. The paint shall be tinted to the color chosen by the Ellis County Sheriff. It is anticipated that a single coat of paint will be sufficient to cover. Since inmates will have to be moved, Contractors will have to coordinate all schedules with the Ellis County Sheriffs Department. All employees of the painting contractors will be subject to a security check by the Ellis County Sheriff. All areas to be painted will have to be verified by an on-site visit.
