HVAC Removal: Carefully disconnect and remove the existing HVAC unit(s) servicing the current walk-in coolers. Set units aside for reuse and protect them from damage during construction. Demo and Exterior Wall Removal: Remove the appropriate portion of the exterior wall of the Maintenance Shop building to provide access to the coolers. Set wall section aside for reuse and protect from damage during construction. Demo and dispose of existing walk-in cooler units (2) and associated debris. Cover opening as necessary to not leave building open to weather or pests. Site Preparation: Perform any necessary prep work following demo to ensure proper fit and installation of new coolers. Coordinate with site manager regarding floor leveling, drainage alignment, or other required adjustments. Cooler Installation: Install two new prefabricated floorless-style walk-in coolers (see specs p. 13) by sliding into place through the opening in the exterior wall of the building. Ensure units are properly aligned with the existing floor drain setup. Account for the likelihood that the new walk-in cooler entry doors will differ in size from the existing doors of the old coolers. Any resulting framing adjustments to the interior building wall (where the doors are) must be completed to ensure a seamless and professional fit. The finished look of the interior wall must blend with the rest of the room. Coolers to be installed directly on existing concrete slab with existing floor drain. Building Exterior Wall Reconstruction: Using previously removed section, reconstruct and finish the removed section of the Maintenance Shop exterior wall to its original condition or better. HVAC Reinstallation: Reinstall previously removed HVAC units to new coolers. Confirm proper function and connection of drainage and power. The Contractor will supply the labor, materials, indoor walk-in coolers (2), and incidentals necessary for the complete scope of work described. Contractor is also responsible for permits and inspections.
