Kansas Correctional Industries is seeking competitive bids to supply hay for the Wild Horse Project at the address listed below. The award for this bid event will be a one (1) year contract that contains a price refresh after 6 months. 4.1. 12-month Hay Bid with a repricing to current market price after 6 months delivered to: Wild Horse Program 1201 East. Ave G Hutchinson, Kansas 67501 • 960 tons of brome and/or prairie hay. Delivered once a month, Sept. 1st, 2025 - Feb. 1st, 2026, at 80 tons per month. • 480 tons of alfalfa hay. Delivered once a month, Sept. 1st, 2025 - Feb. 1st, 2026, at 40 tons per month. 4.2. The Business of Land Management requires all hay to have a minimum crude protein content: • Alfalfa-12% • Smooth Brome-10% • Grass-6% • Delivered hay must be produced from current-year or prior-year crops, with leafy, well-cured, properly stored, and free from dust, mold, excessive heat, or other weather-related damage. • No Russian Thistle or prickly herb, “Cheat” grass, sandburs, grass burs, noxious weed, or grass not considered healthy. • Hay must not have any bearded grain or any forage plant containing long awns (spikelet). • Free of any blister beetles
