The City’s objective is to provide a new, modern and updated splash pad to the Salina community in the same approximate location as the former splash pad at Jerry Ivey Memorial Park. • The design will include electrical grounding and bonding to all metal components. • The mechanical systems shall be a recirculation system and have sand filtration and automated chemical treatment that is electronically interlocked with the filter and feature chemical feed system. • The balancing tank shall be designed to be sufficient in size for usable water volume of a minimum of 5 times the maximum combined feature and filter flow rate. The balancing tank shall open to expose 100% of the surface area and have an automated freshwater fill and water leveling device. • The mechanical design shall be easy to maintain and easily accessible for staff to provide maintenance to pumps, motors, filtration and chemical treatment ideally in an above ground structure. • The design shall be appropriate for a public park which is open to a wide variety of demographics, abilities and age groups.
