Three-Sided Bus Storage Facility Approximate dimensions: 130 feet x 50feet Structure: Three-sided design suitable for housing and protecting district buses Electrical: Outlets and lighting installed as specified by contractor recommendations and district approval 2. Closed Garage with Off ice Approximate dimensions: 50 feet x 35feet Fully enclosed structure Features: Off ice space (single room) Electrical service (outlets, lighting, HVAC-ready) Plumbing for water and restroom/ sink installation 2. Technical Specifications General Construction • All structures must comply with International Building Code (IBC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and Kansas state/local building codes. • Contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits. Framing/Structure • Steel or engineered post-frame construction, designed for wind load and snow load per Kansas building standards. • Minimum roof pitch: 1:4 slope or per engineered requirements. • Three-Sided Bus Storage Facility: open front, closed rear wall, and two sidewalls. • Garage/Off ice: fully enclosed, insulated framing with interior partitions for off ice. Roofing • 26-gauge pre-finished metal roofing panels, color to be selected by USD286. • Gutter and downspout system for proper drainage. Siding • 26-gauge pre-finished metal wall panels or equivalent durable siding. • Color to be coordinated with district. Electrical • Bus Storage Facility: minimum 1 outlet per 20 linear feet, weatherproof GFCI, and overhead LED lighting. • Garage: full electrical service panel, minimum 100-amp capacity, outlets per code, interior/exterior LED lighting. • Conduit and wiring installed per NEC. Plumbing • Garage off ice: rough-in and finish plumbing for sink, toilet, and drinking water access. • Compliance with Kansas plumbing code. HVAC (Off ice only) • Garage off ice constructed with HVAC. Finishes (Garage Off ice) • Insulated walls and ceiling (R-13 or better in walls, R-30 or better in ceiling). • Drywall or equivalent interior wall finish. • Basic flooring (sealed concrete or vinyl tile). • Standard interior door and insulated exterior access door. Safety and Accessibility • All doors, access points, and off ice spaces must comply with ADA requirements. • Appropriate exit signage .
