A. The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is seeking proposals from qualified firms interested in providing field observation and administration services during construction of the 7th Street Corridor Improvements project in Kansas City, Kansas on behalf of the Unified Government/Wyandotte County. B. The Corridor Improvement project involves upgrading bus stops and improve pedestrian connections along 7th Street and Rainbow Boulevard along three major segments as follows: • NORTH SEGMENT- From Minnesota Avenue to Pacific Avenue • CENTRAL SEGMENT – From Kansas Avenue to Cheyenne Avenue • SOUTH SEGMENT ALONG RAINBOW AVENUE – From Southwest Boulevard to West 43rd Street. The project includes but may not be limited to: • Installing 5 new real time arrival signs at 7th Street and Minnesota Avenue (transit center) • One security camera at 7th Street and Minnesota Avenue (transit center) • 29 bus stop improvements • 10 bus stop shelters at locations shown on the plans. • Approximately 1,300 LF of sidewalk improvements. Specific tasks for this project include: 1. Provide construction observation services to ensure that the project is constructed consistently with the plans and specifications. The construction observation services may include but not be limited to concrete bus pads and amenities, ADA ramps, sidewalks, utilities, curbs, retaining walls, real time arrival signs and other site features. 2. Coordination with the KCATA Project Management Office, the KCATA Sign Shop and other KCATA departments and the Unified Government will be required. 3. Documentation of quality, quantity and progress of the work, including weather delays will be part of this effort including material testing as required. 4. Assistance to the KCATA Project Manager will include assistance to the Contractor with interpretation of the construction documents and resolving issues in the field. Documentation will include but may not be limited to: • Request for Information (RFI) • Supplemental Design Instructions (SDI) • Construction Change Directives (CCD) • Change Orders (CO) • ADA compliance verification • Daily Logs • Prevailing Wage Interviews/Verification
