The project will include new concrete work, waterproofing and sealing, integration of six downspouts, ADA-compliant slope grading, and a full-length grated drainage channel designed to divert water away from the building and parking lot. 2. Scope of Work The project scope includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks: A. Concrete Installation • Install a 153’5” x 6’ concrete sidewalk along the northwest side of the gym. • Install a 9’8” x 6’ concrete sidewalk section at the northeast corner, connecting to the longer section. • All concrete work must comply with ADA slope and access standards. B. Excavation and Subgrade Preparation • Excavate existing material and prepare a compacted base suitable for concrete placement. • Ensure proper slope away from the building for surface water drainage. C. Waterproofing and Sealing • Upon excavation, apply waterproof sealer to the building foundation to prevent moisture intrusion. • Use an approved sealer along the entire sidewalk edge adjoining the structure • Install a full-length expansion joint where the sidewalk meets the building. • Seal the joint with flexible, watertight joint sealant to allow for thermal movement while preventing water infiltration. E. ADA-Compliant Slope and Drainage Channel • Grade the sidewalk with a consistent slope that meets ADA standards and directs surface water away from the building. • Construct a drainage channel along the entire 153’ length between the sidewalk and parking lot. • The channel shall be covered with a continuous grated trench drain system capable of handling storm water from both the sidewalk and downspouts. • The trench drain will extend westward, directing water into the adjacent field for safe dispersion. F. Downspout Integration • Six (6) existing downspouts from the gym roof will be connected through the sidewalk directly into the grated drainage channel. • Piping shall be corrosion-resistant (PVC or equivalent) and securely encased in concrete. • All downspout tie-ins must be watertight and slope properly to ensure positive drainage flow. G. Concrete Finish and Sealing • All concrete surfaces shall have a broom finish to ensure slip resistance.
