Specifications include, but are not limited to:The City of Roeland Park is seeking proposals from individuals or organizations interested in providing animal control (field) services within the city to begin on January 1st, 2019. The A.C.A. will work in partnership with the Police Department and Neighborhood Services to ensure the operational integrity for the community and citizens of Roeland Park. The A.C.A. will respond to calls for service initiated through the police department and assigned tasks requested under the authority of the division. The A.C.A. has no enforcement responsibilities and will refer all required actions to the Police Department unless otherwise noted. All requests for A.C.A. services will be approved prior to any response or action being taken EXCEPT for standard dead animal pick-up or regular patrol of the city. The A.C.A. will have a designated contact phone number or radio for response service to provide assistance with domestic animal impounds, dead animal removal and destruction, injured animal rescue, inspections, and any other animal related assignment under the direction of the Chief of Police or designated authority.
