Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. All curb miles are approximations. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to verify all conditions and length before submitting a bid. 2. City staff shall have the right to modify, reduce, or delete the amount of sweeping, schedules, routes, frequency, phases, standards, and days of sweeping with prior notice to Contractor. 3. The sweeping schedules may be adjusted for inclement weather upon agreement by the Deputy Director of Public Works or designee and the contractor. No sweeping operations shall be conducted when there are weather conditions present or forecast that would make such an operation ineffective or dangerous. These weather conditions include, but are not limited to, heavy rains, snow, ice, and sleet. The Contractor may suspend operations if weather conditions are such that sweeping operations cannot be carried out in an effective manner. If such suspension occurs, the Contractor shall immediately notify the Deputy Director of Public Works or designee. The City shall, at the discretion of the Deputy Director of Public Works or designee, have the right to order the suspension of sweeping operations whenever, in his/her judgment, the present weather conditions or impending weather conditions are such that sweeping operations cannot be carried out in an effective manner. The street sweepers or any relief sweepers used to perform this contract work shall: a. Roadway sweepers may be mechanical brush type, brush/vacuum, or regenerative air, and must be able to perform the cleaning work as specified. b. Be no more than seven (7) years in age at any period during the contract. c. Be maintained in top-class running condition including arriving clean for each daily schedule. d. The Contractor shall provide a relief sweeper to complete scheduled routes for each sweeper out of operation, broken down, scheduled for maintenance or any other similar situation. e. The Contractor shall provide a listing of all sweepers and relief sweepers identifying: i. Make, model, and year. ii. Company identification unit number. iii. State and license number. iv. Company vehicle colors. v. Sweeper color, if different. vi. Names of all operators, State driver’s license number, license class, expiration date, and a recent DMV record for each driver.
