Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor will be required to mill the entire surface of each lot. Milling should be at a depth of 2”. The contractor will be required to maintain positive drainage with the placement of the asphalt. The bid items for “Concrete Curb and Gutter, Type 3 (6 ½”)” shall consist of saw cutting and removal of the existing asphalt curb and pavement section. The curb shall match the elevations of the existing curb and shall be constructed following section 407 of the City’s specifications. Full lot closures may be done on each lot, however, lots 11 and 12 shall not be closed simultaneously. The contractor will be required to keep one of these lots open during construction of the other. Lot 1 can be closed at any time throughout construction. The contractor will be required to notify all businesses a minimum one week in advance of the closure of each lot. Notifications shall be passed out within a half of a block area from each lot. The contractor must make every effort to minimize the closure time of each lot. Once the milling has been completed, the contractor must begin asphalt placement within 2 working days. A penalty in the amount of $500.00 per day will be charged if the contractor has not started within those 2 working days.
