2026-01 - PHS and PCMS Gym Floor Finish/Resurface Projects

Overview and Background:
PHS and PCMS gymnasiums are used throughout the school year for volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and daily physical education classes.
Project Goals:
Pittsburg Community Schools - USD 250 is seeking sealed bids for the refinishing of 3 gymnasium floors and resurfacing the main gymnasium at Pittsburg Community Middle School.
General Information and specification(s):
The following are the requirements for purchase:
1. PCMS Auxiliary Gymnasium
a. Screen Back, Tack, and Apply MFMA-approved finish coats to existing gymnasium floor (water-based finish).
2. PCMS Main Gymnasium
a. Resurfacing - Sand, Seal, Stripe to KSHSAA specification and application of MFMA-approved finish on the existing gym floor.
i. Please note
1. The boundary lines for the basketball court are accurate
2. The volleyball lines on “double courts” will need to be drawn and repainted to meet the volleyball standards.
3. PHS Main Gymnasium
a. Screen Back, Tack, and Apply MFMA-approved finish coat to existing gymnasium floor (oil-based finish)
4. PHS Megan Mallet Gymnasium
a. Screen Back, Tack, and Apply MFMA-approved finish coats to existing gymnasium floor (water-based finish).
5. ALL WORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED DURING THE KSHSAA SUMMER MORATORIUM IF POSSIBLE - (JUNE 29 - JULY 7)
ALTERNATE BID REQUESTS:
1. Repair of flooring in PCMS Main Gymnasium (¼’ gap on the side of the floor - near bleachers and not on the playing surface)
2. Installation of two volleyball standards on the Main gymnasium floor at Pittsburg High School (provides the opportunity to host KSHSAA Post-Season Volleyball Contests).
