Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Davenport, Iowa is currently accepting proposals from qualified contractors for the following towing services: towing and emergency road services for City vehicles; and towing and storage services for motor vehicles which have been involved in various types of criminal activity, present traffic control hazards, are in violation of City ordinances, or that are junk vehicles that are inoperable and sitting in yards or driveways. Since each requires a different scope of services, this Request for Proposal has been divided into two sections: Section I: Towing and Emergency Road Services for City Vehicles Section II: Towing, Storage and Auction Services for the Police Department The Fleet Maintenance Division maintains over 1000 units ranging from heavy construction equipment to small engine powered mowers and saws. The fleet consists of, but is not limited to, the following types of vehicles and equipment: 160 passenger vehicles 120 vehicles up to 20,000 GVW 80 vehicles over 20,000 GVW Front-end loaders, track loaders, paving machines, rollers, skid loaders, street sweepers, cranes, boom and aerial lift equipment, snow plows, brush chippers, and other types of equipment required in the excavation and construction trades Motorcycles, farm tractors, boats, trailers and mowers
