Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Centerline Paint Truck Vehicle titled with owner listed as "STATE OF IOWA DOT". 3.1 High Pressure Airless Centerline Paint Striper Cab forward chassis with centerline paint striper. 3.2 Chassis Chassis must be cab forward with hydraulic tilt, minimum 60,000 GVWR with an approximate wheel base of 215”. Engine must provide a minimum of 345 HP, 1,150 lb/ft of torque and meet federal emission standards. Hour meter must indicate true hours of operation (positive on-off oil pressure sender or alternator excited). Truck must be capable of low cruise control speeds between 5 and 25 MPH and reach highway speeds. Poly removable rear fenders included. Chassis dealer to be located within 150 miles of Charles City, IA. Chassis/Engine must be compatible with aftermarket GPS/AVL data collection devices. Bidder must list and describe GPS/AVL devices that the Bidder has experience with or systems the Bidder currently uses. 3.3 Centerline Paint Striper Unit must be able to apply roadway paint between 3”- 8” wide at a thickness of 12-15 mils at speeds as low as 5 MPH and up to 25 MPH. Embedded beads must be applied at a rate of 6-10 pounds per gallon. Two paint and bead carriages, left edge line and right edge line; with the ability to paint centerline and lane line/edge lines simultaneously. Gun carriages operate independently. 3.4 Hydraulic Pump, Auxiliary Engine, Air Compressor A hydraulic pump must be mounted on a liquid cooled auxiliary diesel engine, a solenoid controlled hydraulic bypass switch must be provided for easy start of the auxiliary engine. Air supply must be supplied by an air compressor that is sized appropriately for both painting and loading operations. Compressor must not be over/under sized so that loading 5,000 pounds of glass beads takes more than 45 minutes. Compressor must be a screw type direct driven by a direct coupled liquid cooled diesel engine. 3.5 Tanks Three stainless steel modular compartments holding two paint colors containing a total of 800 gallons. Minimum of 300 gallons yellow, 300 gallons white, the remaining 200 switchable between yellow and white. Tanks must be serviceable for a minimum of 20 years without replacement. Loading of 500 gallons of one color, 300 gallons of the second color, and 5,000 pounds of glass beads must take no longer than 45 minutes to hook up, load, and unhook. Two low pressure pumps with filter must be used for loading and to charge high pressure pumps so paint is filtered when loading and painting. Emergency shutoff valves must be added for each color.
