Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bolts for grader blades, and snowplows blades shall be of the size, length, thread and type head specified. The dimensions shall conform to the Iowa Department of Transportation standard requirements (illustrated in the attached diagram). Bolts shall be domed No. 3, head plow bolts, 80, round countersunk, square neck, having a minimum tensile strength of 150,000 psi or greater and meeting the requirements ASME B18.9 and the Mechanical and Materials requirements of SAE J 429, Grade 8, plain finish. Threads shall conform to the dimensions for coarse UNC threads with Class 2A tolerance. Nuts shall be heavy hex meeting the requirements of ANSI/ASME B18.2.2. Threads shall conform to the dimensions for coarse UNC threads with Class 2B tolerance, plain finish. The Chemical and Mechanical requirements shall conform to ASTM A563 Grade DH.
