This project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the Early Bid Package #01: Exterior Glass & Glazing that will be part of the larger renovation of the Existing Waukee Fire/Police Building at 1300 SE LA Grant Parkway in Waukee. The balance of the renovation scope of work will be bid at a later date as a separate bid effort. The overall project is generally described as follows: The City of Waukee is planning to renovate their existing Police and Fire Department Building to more closely align with the overall operation and design concept implemented at the new Waukee Public Safety Facility. The existing facility is approximately 25,000 SF. The Fire Department occupies the south portion of the building. The north portion of the building formerly occupied by the Police Department will be renovated for the City of Waukee’s Community Development group. A comprehensive renovation of the office and living space is planned including updates to the apparatus bays and doors and repurposing portions of the apparatus bays for fitness and turnout gear areas. Other areas of the building to be updated include the front entry and shared lobby area, as well as outdoor areas. Improvement and repairs are included for exterior areas of masonry, gutters and downspouts and site paving. The majority of the mechanical and electrical systems are anticipated to be updated to service the new functions and layout.
