2.1 All work is to be performed within the five lots on Freel Drive of Ames, Iowa. 2.1.1 Locations of the trees and stumps to be removed are indicated in Attachment A: R3C Tree Removal Map. 2.1.2 Work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the City of Ames. 2.2 Work to be performed in accordance with Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS) section 2010. 2.3 All work shall be performed during normal City of Ames working hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for City holidays. If work is necessary other than during these hours, it must have prior approval by the City of Ames. 2.4 The Contractor shall provide all necessary safeguards and protective devices where work is being done to 1) ensure continued normal operation of electric lines, 2) ensure the safety of the public, and 3) ensure the safety of the Contractor's employees. The Contractor shall obtain all necessary information required to ensure the above prior to beginning work. 2.4.1 Appropriate safety equipment shall be furnished by the Contractor and worn by the Contractor's employees at all times during performance of the work in accordance with ANSI Z133-2017 Standards. 2.4.2 ANSI Class 2 reflective apparel is required at all times when the Contractor is working in the City of Ames Right of Way or on City of Ames property. 2.5 Contractor shall follow all MUTCD traffic control and City of Ames standard traffic control forms. Any flaggers will be the responsibility of the Contractor. One lane of traffic must be kept open at all times. 2.6 Reasonable care shall be exercised during tree and stump removal and clean up to protect from damage site features, improvements, structures, and utilities. Contractor shall inspect site prior to removals and document any existing damage via photographs or video. Any damage to street, sidewalks, curbs, utilities, driveways, grounds, or other trees is the responsibility of the Contractor and will be repaired by the Contractor within five (5) business days. 2.7 No work shall be performed except as designated by the City. The City of Ames shall not be obligated by the Contractor for any payments to another party. 2.8 The City of Ames shall have the right to make any and all inspections deemed necessary by the City but shall be obligated after receiving notification from theContractor of the completion of any work order, to make a final inspection, except as provided herein.
