Specifications include, but are not limited to: A contract for Snow and Ice Removal for Various City of Iowa City Properties for the 2021/2022 Winter Season. This contract requires the removal of snow and ice from all sidewalks within 24 hours if more than 1” in accumulation. The entire width of the sidewalk must be cleared, including down to the concrete or asphalt. Snow and/or ice cannot be deposited onto the public right of way. It is unlawful to remove snow or ice from the public right of way in a manner which interferes with vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic. Violations shall be punishable by a penalty as provided for in City Code. The Contractor will also be responsible for all personal and property damage associated with this contract. All equipment must be used in an appropriate manner. This would include (but is not limited to) heavy vehicles which are not to be used on sidewalks.
