Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. It is the intent of the State of Iowa to enter into a Contract for snow removal services. These services shall be provided in a timely manner when requested by the IPTV property supervisor, and automatically after each snowfall accumulating one (1) inch or more. B. Contractor will furnish all supervision, labor, materials, tools, and equipment in accordance with these specifications to efficiently clear snow from outside steps, sidewalks, entryways, drives, parking lots and loading dock areas of both facilities specified. Contractor shall pile snow in areas designated by the IPTV property supervisor. C. When notified, Contractor guarantees two (2) hours response time, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week at both locations per term of Contract. D. Snow removal services are to be completed by 6:00am to allow for business to continue on a normal basis. All outside steps, sidewalks, entryways, drives, parking lots and loading dock areas will be cleaned off at the time the snow removal is requested or automatically after one (1) inch or more of snowfall occurs. All services for the stated areas must be completed before leaving the work site areas, no partial cleaning of areas will be allowed. E. Sidewalks must be cleaned by snow blower, hand shoveled for rotary broom. Steps must be hand shoveled. Vehicles will not be permitted on the sidewalks, unless specifically approved in writing from the IPTV property supervisor. F. Snow removal around IPTV mobile units shall be done by hand to prevent any damage to electrical connections. G. Contractor must have a full back-up of power equipment and man power so there is never a time for service not to be completed by 6:00am or after one (1) inch of snowfall. H. In the event of an ice storm, both locations should be treated with de-icer or sand by 6:00am or when requested by IPTV property supervisor. The use of rock salt may be requested by the IPTV property supervisor. I. Areas shall be cleaned sufficiently to prevent the formation of ice. J. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, tools and equipment for de-icing when specifically requested by IPTV property supervisor. K. Contractor will utilize the equipment which is the most cost effective for the particular situation. Contractor will charge only for the actual time spent on the job site. No port or travel time allowed. L. Sand applications shall not be accepted in place of snow removal , unless specifically requested by the IPTV property supervisor. M. All personnel assigned to location shall be familiar with the lay out and scope of work to be performed at the IPTV facilities. N. Contractor shall provide an itemized breakdown by location (6450 or 6535) of all hourly charges to include truck use, sidewalk clearing, sanding, calcium chloride, and rock salt treatment. A snow removal log will be provided to Contractor by IPTV property supervisor. The snow removal logs must be completed after each service. Payments for services are based on the billable hours approved by IPTV from the snow removal log. O. All proof of Insurance policies must be submitted to DAS Procurement Services before a contract will be issued.
