The City of Iowa City (City) is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced vendors to shot blast approximately 5,473 square feet of existing epoxy flooring and cove (approximately 6'' up the wall) down to the original concrete layer at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center. The area must be cleaned and prepped, with doorways and vents taped off to contain dust from spreading to other areas in the building. After ensuring a smooth surface, any necessary repairs must be made to guarantee proper adhesion of the new coating. The final step involves applying an approved primer followed by a double broadcast of epoxy quartz coating specifically designed for pool deck applications. The color of the epoxy quartz coating must be pre-approved by the City of Iowa City and should closely match the existing color of the on-deck restroom area. Specifications - Required Products A. Vendor must submit two samples prior to the commencement of work. Grit/Traction sample must be 3 by 3 inch in size illustrating color and pattern for each floor material for each color specified. Grit/Traction Sample must be approved by the Facilities Manager prior to the start of the project. B. Vendor must install a Fluid-Applied Flooring System using epoxy base coat(s), with broadcast aggregate. Product must consist of: 1. Aggregate: Quartz granules 2. Top Coat: Polyurethane 3. System Thickness: 1/8''-3/16,'' nominal, when dry 4. Texture: Slip Resistant. Must be approved by Facilities Manager. 5. Sheen: High Gloss 6.
