The following project categories will be considered as a part of this Request for Qualifications: ● Retaining Walls – May include design of new or replacement retaining walls or repair of existing retaining walls. Retaining walls may be publicly or privately owned. ● Bridges – May include design of replacement, repairs, and associated improvements. Less commonly, non-routine/non-regular bridge and/or culvert inspections. ● Buildings and Architectural – May include building inspection, repairs, restorations, and/or improvements. Services may require either structural engineering services, architectural services, or both. Services may also include assisting City staff in the evaluation of privately owned facilities. ● Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) – May include planning, studies, and/or design of MEP improvements and/or repairs to City-owned or maintained buildings. ● Public Utilities – May include sanitary or storm collection system repairs and improvements. ● Street Improvements – May include street or alley construction, reconstruction, or rehabilitation as well as public utilities, sidewalks, curb ramps, and other related work. ● Traffic Engineering – May include traffic studies and analysis, traffic signal design and timing, warrant analysis, roundabout design, and traffic/pedestrian safety analysis. ● Surveying – May include topographic, construction layout, or boundary surveying in various forms, at various times through the project development process. Work can range from determining ownership of a particular feature (i.e., retracement) to the production of easements to staking in support of property acquisition efforts or for construction. ● Construction Inspection – Inspection for our CIP projects, including but not limited to roadways, sewers and parks. Work could include observation and testing of said construction with documentation per City requirements using SUDAS specifications. An inspector must have IDOT PCC-1, HMA-1, and AGG-1 certifications and a valid driver’s license.
