1.0 SCOPE OF WORK; 1.1.1 This Contract shall cover the general requirements for the rewinding, reconditioning, repairing, and testing of motors on an as-needed basis as requested by various City Departments. This includes but is not limited to assembled motors, stator coils, stator iron, bearings, and general mechanical work. The volume of work required will vary greatly between departments; however, the bid pricing shall apply for the needs of all departments on a citywide basis. Contractor shall perform work on all types and sizes of motors in accordance with the latest EASA specifications. 1.1.2 The work to be performed will primarily consist of rewinding or reconditioning electric motors, with additional repairs performed as needed if other problems exist. 1.1.3 Rewind/Recondition: Firm-fixed pricing shall be based on size of the motor. In the case of dual horsepower units, charges shall be based only on the higher horsepower rating, never on both. This pricing includes all labor and materials for rewinding or reconditioning the motor. Installation of bearings is not included in this pricing. 1.1.4 Pricing for bearings shall be cost plus 15%. Documentation showing cost of the bearings shall be provided with invoices submitted to the City. 1.1.5 Any other work shall be based on firm-fixed hourly labor rates with parts billed at cost plus 15%. Man hours shall not exceed normal/customary time allotments compared to industry standards or manufacturer’s suggested allotments for tasks performed. 1.1.6 Parts pricing shall be based on a 15% differential from vendor procurement costs. Copies of invoices or other appropriate documentation to support parts prices shall be submitted with invoices to the City. 1.1.7 The Contractor shall provide to the City a full set of completed test and data sheets including Electrical, Machinist and Mechanical Report, and Winding Data Report upon completion of work. 1.1.8 All inspection, cleaning, balancing, disassembly, reassembly, winding, dipping, baking, blasting, painting, testing and documentation shall be included as part of the base rewind/recondition cost.
