Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 Contractor shall provide labor, materials and equipment necessary to maintain median landscaping. 2.2 Spring Maintenance to include: Spring Bed Cleanup shall be completed between April 1st and April 22nd and shall include, but not be limited to: trash and debris removal; ornamental grass, perennial plant cut backs at 2” uniform height for grasses, dead daylily vegetation removed, winter dieback from knockout roses and shrubs pruned back, etc; repair of tire ruts to soil. Mulching shall be completed after Bed Cleanup between April 1st and April 22nd. Bed cleanup completed prior to mulching; mulch shall be applied at 2” depth across the bed. Old mulch material along the bed borders shall be removed so that new mulch will fall at border grade and taper back to the bed. Mulch must not cover plant material or mound against plant stems or tree trunks. Upon completion of each bed all adjoining hard surface areas must be cleaned of work related dirt and mulch. Mulch color shall be “Walnut” brown color enhanced hardwood mulch. Contractor shall provide a sample of mulch for approval by the Project Manager ahead of time. Spring pre-emergent weed control application to mulched beds shall be applied between April 15th and May 7th after bed cleanup and mulching is complete. 2.3 Weekly maintenance of landscaping at the locations listed shall include: Removal of trash, litter, paper, cigarettes and debris from medians Weed control in mulched beds and all adjoining concrete portions or curb joints of landscaped or mowed medians must be maintained Weed control on non-landscaped concrete medians within the Collins Road corridor (Twixt Town Road NE west to Council Street NE) are to be maintained to be kept free of any vegetation Deadheading of perennial flowers Light pruning of shrubs as needed to remove dead stems and retain form Mowing shall be completed at a 2-½ to 3 inch height, no less to maintain plant vigor Concrete ends of grassy medians maintained free of weeds and annual grasses Mowing areas: Early Spring rate of balanced fertilizer and pre-emergent herbicide for spring green up and control of annual grasses shall be applied between April 21st and May 7th. This does not include the ROW mowed areas along Collins Road NE. Mowing areas: Late summer rate of balanced fertilizer and post emergent weed control of broadleaf weeds shall be applied between August 21st and September 7th assuming turf grass areas are not dormant. This does not include the ROW mowed areas along Collins Road NE. Watering as-needed basis, by written request Provide Services April 1st through October 28th yearly Provide Services October 28th through March 31st, as-needed basis, by written request for litter removal or damage to beds Contractor shall submit invoice within 10 days of service Minimum time frame between service times shall be 6 days for weekly service and 11 days for bi- weekly service
