The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and other components necessary, except as specified herein, to provide janitorial services for each library location as specified in the attached task schedules. It is understood and agreed that the Contractor will perform other similar duties not specifically listed in the task schedules that may be required to ensure that the building is adequately cleaned in accordance with the City requirements and acceptable professional standards. 2.1 Schedule, Staffing and Supervision a) The Contractor shall provide services after closing of the Library location and conclude by 7:00 a.m. CDT/CST, Monday through Sunday, except for designated holidays. Any deviation from this schedule must be approved by the City’s Facilities Services Supervisor, Library representative, or designee, prior to the change. b) Day Person The Contractor shall provide a day person to respond to miscellaneous janitorial requests and to correct any deficiencies resulting from the previous night’s janitorial work at all locations. Preferred on site hours at all locations are 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. c) Daytime Porter for Downtown Library (upon start of contract) and new Westside Library (opening in 2026) – Pricing is requested separately for day porter services. The Contractor shall provide a day porter for the hours of 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, to perform the following duties: Both facilities: • Refresh restrooms (including staff restrooms) – to be done at beginning of shift. Return to any occupied single use restroom as needed, leaving to night crew if necessary. • Walk around outside of building picking up trash daily as needed (weather permitting). • Empty trash in conference rooms daily as needed, unless occupied. • Empty outdoor trash cans daily as needed. • Sweep entrances (inside & out) daily as needed. • In wet/winter weather, regularly monitor/mop wet areas in heavy traffic areas. • Refresh conference and study rooms daily as needed. Return to any occupied room as needed, leaving to night crew if necessary. • Provide weekly supply list to Library Administrative Clerk on Mondays. Downtown Library • Clean Main Staircase daily as needed (seasonal). (Downtown) • Spot clean glass in atrium and North/South entrance doors daily as needed. (Downtown) • Clean glass and railing on 2nd Floor. (Downtown) • Pick up trash on roof daily as needed (seasonal). • Spot clean and remove trash from the Living Learning Roof and Reading Terrace daily as needed (seasonal – closed in winter). Note: Café staff is responsible for emptying their own trash and cleaning of tables. The floor will be done by the Contractor each night as stated in the attached task schedule. Westside Library (opening in 2026) • Spot clean glass in alcoves and West/East entrance doors daily as needed • Spot clean and remove trash from courtyards and patios daily as needed (weather permitting)
