The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking proposals from qualified Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to provide high-speed internet connectivity for three City facilities. The goal is to ensure reliable and redundant internet connections by engaging vendors who can provide scalable solutions. The selected ISPs will be responsible for: • Providing high-speed internet connectivity to one or more of the following buildings: o Building 1: 500 15th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 o Building 2: 505 1st St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 o Building 3: 713 1st Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401 • Ensuring geographic diversity in their connections to the upstream providers • Implementing BGP for redundancy • Providing detailed documentation on how they connect to the upstream providers to ensure geographic diversity • Each connection should be a minimum of 1Gbps with the ability to scale up to 10Gbps • Meeting the following technical specifications: o Latency: Maximum of 30ms round-trip time (RTT) to the nearest major Internet exchange point o Uptime: Minimum of 99.9% uptime guarantee • Ensuring fiber route diversity to prevent single points of failure; Vendors must specify whether the solution uses their own fiber, leased fiber, or a hybrid approach, and provide details on the physical path diversity of the fiber routes
