2.1 Contractors shall furnish and install approximately 592 trees for planting at designated locations throughout the City during the Fall 2025 season. Locations for plantings can be viewed at https://crgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/111bf580f03044d4b57cbada70020b18. 2.2 Fall 2025 tree planting shall be completed between September 15, 2025 and November 15, 2025, unless prior written approval to work outside of this time period is given by the ReLeaf Program Manager, Carole Teator. 2.3 Staging – The Contractor is responsible to provide a suitable staging area for trees and other supplies. Those that cannot be planted immediately on delivery shall be kept in the shade, well-protected with soil, wet mulch, or other acceptable material, and kept well-watered. Trees shall not remain unplanted any longer than three (3) days after delivery. 2.4 Inspection of trees - Trees shall be inspected by City staff prior to planting and any items found to be in non-compliance of the following specifications will be rejected. The City reserves the right to reject a tree after planting if the tree is not capable of supporting its canopy when supports are removed and canopy extends off a vertical alignment more than 30 degrees. City staff shall be notified of tree deliveries with at least one day’s notice to ensure that trees can be inspected prior to planting. For the inspection, the trees will need to be organized so City staff can easily evaluate the canopy, trunk and root ball of each tree. If this inspection is not performed, the awarded vendor will be required to remove and replace any trees deemed unacceptable by the City staff during the Quality Control check. 2.5 Inspection of planting - The Contractor shall provide daily updates with locations planted so that City staff may complete an inspection of planting depth, size, condition, etc. A critical path phasing plan and schedule may be submitted prior to the commencement of planting as an alternative to daily progress updates.
