1. Supply 0.75 inch to 1.5 inch caliper nursery stock tree from available list. 2. Request Iowa One Call to identify underground utilities for planting locations at least 72 hours before digging will occur. 3. Remove all packaging and delivery material from the tree prior to planting, including twine, burlap, grow bags, plastic containers, and metal caging. 4. To dig and plant tree to appropriate depth whereas, the first primary roots or root collar/flare shall be planted just below soil grade. Trees found to be planted too high or too deep will be identified by the City Forester and will need to be replaced or replanted by the Contractor. 5. To backfill hole using existing soil medium or supplemental soil if necessary. 6. Supply mulch to the drip line of the tree to be spread 2-4 inch thick with no mulch mounded against the trunk. 7. Provide water at time of planting and one other occurrence during the first week, depending on soil moisture and precipitation levels. 8. Clean and restore surrounding lawn and vegetation.
