he work includes demolition, in accordance with SUDAS Division 10, of the Centennial Building and associated improvements at 1140 3'd Avenue SE, Le Mars, Iowa 51031. A summary of the building is included below: The Centennial Building is a 7,121 base square-foot (SF), concrete, former dormitory constructed in 1969. The building is four stories with a basement beneath the southmost portion and a flat roof. There is an approximate 152 SF, one-story addition at the north end of the building. Demolition includes removal of sidewalks, foundation footings, basement slabs, and any crawl spaces or tunnels, and any additional at- or above-grade improvements with the exception of existing utility poles. The Work also includes removal and disposal of hazardous and non- hazardous materials associated with the property. All materials removed from the property shall be done in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Work also includes backfilling all existing excavated basements, disconnection of remaining utilities, removal of fencing, removal of trees as indicated, and other requirements per SUDAS associated with the demolition and rough site grading. Protect existing power poles and overhead lines. Remaining utility infrastructure may be kept in place. The CITY will disconnect water and sanitary sewer at the main. Contractor is responsible for capping/plugging utilities at the building. CITY to provide fill material for excavations at no cost. Contractor is responsible for loading up and hauling fill from borrow site and placing and compacting the fill. Contractor is also responsible for performing finish grading to match surrounding property contours.
