Specifications include, but are not limited to: S1 CCP Instructor Training for End Users: 1 5-day Core Correctional Practices (CCP) train the trainers' training for instructors developed and provided by the University of Cincinnati Corrections Institute (UCCI); this course will provide a formalized training protocol to instruct staff on the use of CCP skills and their support of cognitive-behavioral programming. CCPs are relevant to direct care, security staff, and treatment staff. Specific topics addressed in training will include: the principles of effective intervention, core correctional practices (relationships skills, effective use of reinforcement, effective use of disapproval, effective use of authority, prosocial modeling, cognitive restructuring, social skills training and problem solving skills), principles of effective behavior management system, and implementation of CCP. TOT participants will have the opportunity to be classified into one of three categories: Lead, Co-Trainer or Uncertified. The training will focus on core skills needed in order to be an effective trainer in the CCP End-User curriculum. S2 CCP Coaches Training 1 3-day CCP Coaches training developed and provided by the University of Cincinnati Corrections Institute (UCCI) focusing on how to support the effective use of core correctional practices. Training will introduce an effective coaching model; components include coaching, providing feedback, modeling, and documenting staff proficiencies. Participants will be able to practice this model with each other and as well as the integration of live coaching. This training will be used to support and improve staff who have previously attended the end user CCP.
