The City of Coralville desires to retain the services of a Construction Manager at Risk for the construction of a new Recreation and Aquatic Center. The project plan is approximately 109,700 square feet and includes a gymnasium with three full sized basketball courts, center gathering corridor with climbing wall and other game space, community meeting spaces, 200- meter walking track, fitness studios, cardio and weight area, soft turf area, offices, and locker rooms. It also includes two natatoriums. One natatorium will include a recreation lap swim/teaching/exercise pool and a shallow water pool with slide and play features. The second natatorium is a competition pool with stadium seating, locker rooms, meeting room, and storage areas for the accommodation of competitive swimming and diving. Tentative construction schedule: It is anticipated that the project will be ready to break ground by summer 2026 with a grading and utilities package. Once a Construction Manager at Risk is under contract, the owner, design team, and construction manager will coordinate final construction schedule.
