Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Technical ability to develop, pilot, test and install an electro-magnetic guidance system using commercially-available components. The system should allow for driver interference, tolerate normal wear and tear, and shall not interfere with existing vehicle components. Any system should be fault tolerant as safety of the passenger and operator are paramount in any system development. Respondents should address their installation and testing process for all tasks, including: a. Modifying the 60’ all-electric BYD buses with a steering actuator and electromagnetic strips; and b. Installing in-lane magnets in all types of traffic separation, including dedicated, BAT, and mixed traffic, along all BRT corridors. 2. Process to monitor and report the system’s electrical draw and potential impact on the battery life. Respondent should discuss how the modification of the electrical system may affect the warranty of the vehicle.
