Specifications include, but are not limited to: Harrison School District 2 (HSD2) is requesting gym flooring install for the seven schools listed below. Existing gym floors are being removed by separate contract because they have been found to contain Mercury. Two of the eight are being removed as hazardous material, the rest have mercury content below a hazardous waste index. These floors are being removed by a qualified contractor with Apex Consulting confirming all mercury content will be removed from the floor, air, and surrounding surfaces. Gym floor to be installed is a Gerflor Taraflex Sports Floor 6.2 or similar (https://www.gerflorusa.com/professionals-products/floor/taraflex-multi-use-6.2.htm). Floor preparation is to be included in scope. Coordination between the flooring installer and selected Mercury Removal Contractor will need to occur to confirm the floor will be ready for the flooring install and will adhere appropriately.
