3. Anticipated Scope of Work The assessment is expected to begin by or before April 1, 2025 and be completed by or before September 26, 2025. A. Examine the crime lab’s service offerings to ensure they align with the needs of the law enforcement agencies served and recommend potential scope adjustments if warranted. 3.1. Resource Needs and Opportunities for Improvement A. Provide a clear analysis of any gaps or deficiencies, with recommendations for additional resources or changes to support enhanced crime lab function. 3.2. Deliverables A. Interim Reports (as needed): Brief progress reports summarizing preliminary findings and any urgent issues identified. B. Draft Report: A comprehensive report that outlines findings, identifies gaps, highlights opportunities for improvement, and lists any additional resource needs. The report should include a prioritized list of actionable recommendations. The draft should be provided to crime lab staff by or before August 15, 2025. C. Draft Report Meeting: Meet with the crime lab to discuss the draft report to provide points of clarity and to answer questions in late August or early September. A virtual meeting is permitted. D. Final Report: Crime Lab staff will provide written responses to recommendations by September 26, 2025. The written responses will be included in the final report as an addendum. The final report should be provided to the crime lab and Forensic Services Board by or before October 10, 2025. E. Report Presentation: Present key highlights of the report to the Forensic Services Board in October 2025. Virtual presentations are permitted.
