A. Maintenance activity of automatic transfer switches includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Inspect insulating materials 2. Inspect barriers, arc chutes, TS coils, rectifiers and resistors 3. Inspect coils and contacts of the following: a. SE (selector relay) b. LO (lockout relay) c. AR (arming relay) d. 1V (voltage relay) e. 2V (voltage relay) f. 3V (voltage relay) g. NR (normal relay) h. ER (emergency relay) i. All other accessory relays 4. Inspect timer, arcing and main contacts 5. Check and lubricate linkage 6. Clean and lubricate exposed TS coil where applicable 7. Clean automatic transfer switch, controls and switch cabinet 8. Check/tighten terminal connections 9. Inspect transfer switch and enclosure for corrosion 10. Check/record utility amperage and voltage including peak amperage. B. Perform the following during simulated outage 1. Time delay and record settings (all styles) 2. Retransfer time delay and record settings (all styles) 3. Engine cool down time delay and record settings (all styles) 4. Inspect optional accessories 5. Record emergency voltage and frequency C. Testing of bypass/isolation switches 1. Inspect arcing and main contacts 2. Inspect barrier and arc chutes 4. Inspect/lubricate linkage 5. Check engine start bypass contacts 6. Check all safety interlocks D. Perform the following on closed transition transfer switches 1. Check closed transition bypass operations 2. Check alarm time delay settings
