This contract is for the on-call inspections of bridges, predominantly LPA bridges, throughout the State of Indiana. Bridge inspection work types shall include, but not be limited to, routine, fracture critical, damage, Level I Effort underwater, special details (as defined in Section 2-2.09 of the INDOT Bridge Inspection Manual), scour, seismic, miscellaneous, or any combination thereof according to the INDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and policies. Work shall include completing field bridge inspections and bridge inspection reports according to the INDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and policies. Bridge scour inspections that may be required as part of the work shall be for bridges classified as scour critical when the scour trigger criteria, as defined in scour plans of action specific to each scour critical bridge, are reached. When NTP for an On-Call inspection involving scour inspections is sent as part of the work, the work shall be done according to the scour plan of action requirements, including scour monitoring that may be required for emergency situations. Work shall include completing field bridge scour inspections and bridge scour inspection reports according to the INDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and policies. When NTP for an On-Call inspection assignment is sent to the consultant, the consultant shall mobilize approved bridge inspectors to begin work. Inspectors mobilized for the work shall commence field inspection operations within five business days of an assignment NTP for all bridge types EXCEPT damage, scour, or seismic. Inspectors mobilized for damage, scour, or seismic work assignments shall commence field inspection operations within 24 hours of NTP. Inspectors shall furnish all tools, equipment, vehicles, and appurtenant incidentals necessary to complete assigned inspections in a thorough and safe manner, including tools, equipment, vehicles, and appurtenant incidentals necessary to properly complete arms-length inspections of fracture critical members, connections, and components. All On-Call contract services are on an as-needed basis and there is a possibility that no assignments will be made.
