The consultant will provide expertise and broad, substantive support to the APS program regarding federal funding requirements and grant improvement projects. The consultant role is created pursuant to planning with the Health and Human Services and is key to achieving federal grant aims to increase APS program efficiency and quality. The consultant will collaborate with the Division of Aging and stakeholders of the APS federal grants. Providing expertise on the APS federal grant requirements to the Division of Aging. Providing expertise on the APS improvement projects within the grant. Providing support for planning and implementation, as needed, for the improvement projects funded by the federal grants, including quality assurance efforts; standard operating procedures; and other projects either identified, or related to efforts identified, in federal spend plans and the APS operational plan. Providing support for the APS program system transition in the form of analysis, document creation, attending meetings, providing feedback, and other forms of support as needed. Providing support and expertise on regulatory changes related to APS program improvement, including but not limited to, drafting statutory language and analysis. Regularly communicating with state APS staff and communicating with grant stakeholders, as needed. Providing and editing written reports, as needed, related to the APS federal grants and the improvement projects; Develop a quality assurance program. Attending and/or leading meetings regarding the federal grant work. Assist in ensuring that deadlines and requirements are met pursuant to the federal grants. Training for the APS associated expertise, some in state and out of state travel will provide the opportunity for the consultant to improve their skills and knowledge to help do their job more effectively and efficiently
