Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project consists of performing 24-hour volume, speed, and classification counts on McHenry County highways. The locations shall be determined by the McHenry County Division of Transportation. The approximate number of counts needed is 250. Other types of counts such as intersection counts and bicycles and pedestrians counts will also be required when needed. The approximate number of these counts needed is 50. Finally, various engineering studies may be required such as signal warrant analysis for traffic signals based upon traffic counts performed. Location map of the traffic counts to be provided by the Division of Transportation before work is to be performed. Anticipated Work Items (may include, but not limited to the following): A. Performance of volume, speed, and classification counts using International Road Dynamics Inc. brand traffic counters (TRS or equivalent), which is the brand of counters currently used by the McHenry County Division of Transportation. B. Traffic shall be counted on any Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday excluding holidays and weeks with holidays or days when school is not in session. C. Successive counts on the same road shall be performed on the same day as directed by the McHenry County Division of Transportation. D. All data files to be saved in Microsoft Excel format (example will be provided by the McHenry County Division of Transportation) and turned over to the McHenry County Division of Transportation on for all counts performed in both Excel and Adobe PDF format. E. The use of video counting equipment such as Miovision or other system approved by the MCDOT will be required to count various intersections as directed. The intersection counts may include the following; 24-hour counts either weekday or weekend, peak hour counts either weekday or weekend. Pedestrian counts using the same equipment listed above may also be required. F. Performance of traffic studies such as traffic signal warrant analysis based upon MUTCD requirements
