Specifications include, but are not limited to: I. Vendor must provide proof of the following for consideration of award: a. Treating physician must have either a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariiae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree. b. Treating physician must provide a CSV or resume with at least five (5) of experience treating and handling police service dogs. II. Contract/Vendor Requirements: a. Vendor must be available for routine care Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. b. Vendor must be available 24 hours per day, seven days per week for emergency services. c. Vendor must have an ambulance vehicle for use in emergencies requiring transportation of a canine and must respond within 2 hours to on-scene incidents. Vendor must transport canine to nearest emergency care facility and serve as primary care physician throughout any emergency incident. d. Vendor must have on-site x-ray facilities. e. Vendor must maintain complete records for each canine on behalf of CCSO and make these records available upon CCSO request. Vendor must provide written documentation of all treatments upon request at no additional cost to CCSO. f. Vendor must provide referrals at no additional cost to CCSO for up to and including the following: behavioral services; dermatology; neurology; dentistry; orthopedics; oncology; and ophthalmology.
