Specifications include, but are not limited to: complete reconstruction of the intersection between Chautauqua Street and McLafferty Road. The proposed roadway alignment consists of the addition of approach horizontal curves along Chautauqua on both sides of the intersection. This will result in the intersection shifting south. A single lane roundabout shall be constructed at the intersection with varying lane widths between 12'-13' tapered to match the existing 11' lanes. The addition of an 8' multi-use path shall be constructed parallel to the roundabout in order to accommodate pedestrian and bicyclist traffic, as well as crosswalks, medians, and ADA ramps. A Y-Type culdesac shall be installed on the north side of the intersection to prevent traffic from entering the roundabout from Briarwood Drive. Existing inlets are to be replaced at the low spots of proposed vertical curves and on-grade to limit runoff encroachment. Generally, runoff is to be drained away from the central island of the roundabout.
